The opening story was really scary. Imagine we die like how Howard Hughes did: a billionaire junky that wasn't happy. The group shared about situations where we can't seem to say "Enough!". Scripture reading was from Psalm 103:1-13. We picked out a few points from this Psalm too. According to this Psalm, God provides redemption, forgiveness, satisfaction, compassion and healing.
How does a discontent person who is always seeking more look in the light of God? He will be like the man in the parable of the rich fool. Luke 12:13-21. We learnt to be rich toward God and to be on our guard because "a man's life does not consists of the abundance of his possessions."
Sam shared about the "BLENDER" theory. (a theory he claims its his! hehe) We are all guilty of it: trying to blend in with society and living everyday for the world because we are so attached to the ways of men. A solution Sam came up with is that we spend quality time with God each day and as we get familiar with God's Word, we will be blended into God's way and not the world's ways.
Vel also taught us a new word today: COVETOUSNESS. which is to hunger and desire to own what other people have. Let us strive to own what God has instead ok!
Something quote-worthy: "Human beings have a God-shaped vacuum that only a LIVING RELATIONSHIP with their creator can fill."
